There are a number of
pest infestations that can really create havoc in your home and can really be
difficult to get rid of. One of the more difficult types of pests to get rid of
is termites. Termites are probably the most destructive types of pest
infestations that you can have in your home.
Termites control is an extremely
difficult task in most cases as you cannot see the termites, but you know that
they exist due to their handy work. A termite’s handy work can be seen in the
wooden furniture or cupboards in your home. You will see a fine powder that
lies underneath the furniture or cupboards. This fine dust is actually sawdust
that is created by the termites eating through you furniture.
In order to exercise termites control on these little
insects you need to be careful as to how you handle it. The first thing that
you need to do is to find the source of these little critters, admittedly this
is no easy task. Like ants, these termites live underground, however they do
not live in mounds.
Their burrows are
marked by holes in the ground the size of a stud earring. You can place a powder
in an around these holes, which the termites will then carry in mistaking it
for food. This would either be boric acid or something similar which will put
an end to their means.
To take care of the
wood, you need to be careful so as not to further damage the furniture, the
best is to sprinkle the same power on the places where these termites have
been. It is always best to take care of the source rather than starting with
what you see at hand.
